![]() The waitress roamed around a bit, then I ordered a tea and asked her whether I could get milk with it. I said that I would be reading the menu first, to see what this cafe had to offer. Before I sat down, the waitress was already at my table (quick, which is not necessarily bad). Unfortunately, the service could have been better. It was nicely decorated and they had good music. Sorry for the honesty and I hope the owners take the criticism as a way to improve.Ī nice tiny café located in a narrow street of Valletta. The rest depends on the food which I believe has the potential. In all due respect, if you train the servers and get linen napkins the experience will improve dramatically. Overall, I was looking forward to this experience but it turned out to be less then expected. ![]() The best dish was the special rabbit stuffed pasta, I thought it was very good. Thankfully, Jan did the right thing and comped the flying fish (do not order). I had one baked and the other grilled but both did not have enough salt. I ordered two fish, one recommended by the server and it was not good. I felt the food all around was just mediocre. And when you finish the courses the plates should be removed. The server apologized and said “I forgot.”When you order a bottle of wine, one should also not have to keep pouring your own wine. As the food was coming, I asked where is the wine. And when I ordered the bottle of wine, the server forgot to bring it over. For example, I dropped my paper napkin and the server said “let me get you a new one”, but never came back. The service was not warm and inviting and needs a lot of training. As stupid as it sounds, the paper napkins really annoyed me and makes it déclassé. Decor was nice but to use paper napkins in my opinion is a huge mistake. I certainly hope Guze will not go down that route.ĭisappointed but Jan saved the day. Note: As there are several other Micheline Guide and a Micheline Bib restaurants in the area, our only advice for those is 'Skip them.' Trust us most if not all feel like eating at a canteen. We were left with so much joy and surprise. Between the two of us, we tried almost everything on the menu, and I can happily say that for what it is everything was fantastic. The wine list was thoroughly explained and the host paired our meals perfectly. If a menu has more than four choices per section, be weary. The menu was short and sweet, exactly what you would want and expect. ![]() The host was attentive and aware of the entire room. We were taken to the second part of the room where there were three intimate double tables. When we arrived there was gentle music playing, the 'family' size six seater table in the front was already taken, the guests greeted us as we entered. The setting was intimate, the food was fresh and tender, the service was impeccable!
